Recruiting Our Students
Our students and graduates are highly recruited into engineering and non-engineering fields. Our goal is to facilitate opportunities for companies to access our top quality students.
Campus Recruiting Opportunities
Recruitment for internships and full time jobs begins in September via a variety of on campus events through TechConnect and Duke's Career Center Fair. TechConnect takes place before the career fairs, enabling industry representatives to conduct question and answer sessions with engineering and computer science students in an intimate, social environment. This allows companies to quickly target the students in whom they are interested, and helps students feel more comfortable with the networking/interviewing process and to learn more about industries of interest.
Spring recruiting begins in January with TechConnect followed by the Summer Opportunities Career Fair. A Just in Time Career Fair is held in April for those key last-minute hires.
Internships are an excellent way to tap into the outstanding student talent Pratt has to offer. We encourage all engineering students to pursue one or more industry internships during their undergraduate years in order to try on different careers possibilities. For Industry, internships are a tried and true method for pre-screening future employees. We are always working to expand the number of internship opportunities for our students. Please contact Kirsten Shaw if you are interested in recruiting engineering interns, establishing a new internship program with Pratt., or need to know more about how to advertise or build your brand recognition at Duke Engineering.
If you are looking for graduate students of our innovative Master of Engineering Management Program (MEMP) or Master of Engineering Program (MEng) please visit the MEMP program website or MEng program website.
The contact person for Duke's central career services is Anne Lyford (email@example.com).
Professional Practice & Research Opportunity Program for Students (PPROPS)
PPROPS is a university-industry partnership in which a student participates in an industrial internship and a full year of research with a Duke faculty member who is leading ground-breaking research and product development in a related field.

New College Grad Employment
“Employers looking to hire new college graduates express most interest in business, engineering, and computer sciences graduates,” according to the Job Outlook 2012 survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).
So, you’ve landed in the right place! Duke engineering students are successfully employed in a variety of industry sectors. Most Duke engineering students have completed at least one industry internship as an undergraduate. This helps them launch into their full time career with some real-life industry experience and knowledge of corporate culture. Please contact Kirsten Shaw (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in recruiting Duke engineering students to join your organization full time.
