Introducing ‘Engineering While Black’

8/24/20 Pratt School of Engineering

The week will culminate in two panel discussions on identity and inequities in STEM, both in academia and in industry.

Introducing ‘Engineering While Black’

Dear Pratt Community,

We would like to invite you to join us for our week-long virtual event ENGINEERING WHILE BLACK—an event series co-sponsored by ESG, NSBE, SHPE, and SWE to host important, thoughtful conversations at Pratt over the coming week (Aug 24-28).

These events are dedicated to raising awareness about, and funds towards, racial inequities in STEM. Each day Monday-Thursday will be hosted by one of our Pratt student groups and dedicated to a different local black-led non-profit or conversation topic. We will be featuring various speakers during the week and discussing future student volunteering opportunities. The week will culminate in two panel discussions on identity and inequities in STEM, both in academia and in industry. Please join in conversations, and donate if you are able to! Events will be held at different times throughout the week–see the infographics below and follow us on instagram to learn more.

We are excited to see Pratt’s strong commitment to action and support toward achieving racial equity!
