Innovations in Remote Learning: Labs@Home

Duke ECE students are able to put their hands on electrical engineering hardware this semester, even at home

As the fall semester approached, Duke ECE faculty and staff considered every possible iteration of in-person, virtual, or hybrid lab experiences for our engineering students. In the end, it came down to our indispensable undergraduate teaching assistants—without them on campus, in-person labs wouldn't be possible. How could we make sure that students still got the hands-in experience that engineers need, at home?

The answer: custom laboratory kits, compiled and packaged for each student.

Learn more about what the kits contained, how they were received, and where a few kits got stuck at Customs.
