Duke ECE students are able to put their hands on electrical engineering hardware this semester, even at home

Innovations in Remote Learning: Labs@Home

As the fall semester approached, Duke ECE faculty and staff considered every possible iteration of in-person, virtual, or hybrid lab experiences for our engineering students. In the end, it came down to our indispensable undergraduate teaching assistants—without them on campus, in-person labs wouldn’t be possible. How could we make sure that students still got the hands-in experience that engineers need, at home?

The answer: custom laboratory kits, compiled and packaged for each student.

Learn more about what the kits contained, how they were received, and where a few kits got stuck at Customs.
