Lawrence and his co-Founders, Joseph Ferrara and Christian Gheorghe, launched Resonance Companies, Inc. in July 2015 with the purpose of transforming the Fashion Industry by enabling talented fashion designers to build businesses that are as beautiful as their creative visions. Resonance uniquely combines venture capital company-building experience; fashion industry insight and experience; a proprietary, technology-based fashion business architecture; advanced manufacturing capability; and capital. Prior to Resonance, Lawrence founded FirstMark Capital in New York City in 2007, the venture firm that has backed some of the most successful commerce companies in the market today including Tommy John, Pinterest and Shopify. He also was the Founder of Pequot Ventures, the predecessor to FirstMark, in 1996.  He started his career at IBM in its Retail Industry sales organization and later started a product business within IBM providing interactive transactional kiosks for retailers.

Lawrence has served as an Adjunct Professor at NYU since 2007 where, most recently, he taught Full Stack Fashion, a class that proposes a blue print for the future of the fashion industry. He is also a frequent Op Ed contributor to the Business of Fashion.

Lawrence is the co-Founder and Chairman of Norisol Ferrari, LLC, a creator-driven brand that is attempting to redefine the luxury industry.  He is also in the process of re-launching Crouch and Fitzgerald, a heritage American luxury brand for leather goods founded in 1839. He has been an active participant in the NYC entrepreneurial community, serving on the NYC Economic Development Corporation’s Fashion 2020 Advisory board and as an advisor to Mayor Bloomberg on technology and innovation.

Christian Gheorghe is the CEO and co-founder at Resonance Companies. Always seeking to maximize the value to users from technology innovation, Gheorghe has wide-ranging entrepreneurial experience in the design, architecture, development and deployment of enterprise performance management software. Gheorghe was formerly senior vice president and chief technology officer at SAP, where he drove the technology direction of SAP's EPM and GRC business units before, during and after the acquisition of Business Objects. Gheorghe joined SAP from OutlookSoft, where he significantly expanded the vision of OutlookSoft's unified application platform with the release of OutlookSoft 5 and the subsequent acquisition of OutlookSoft by SAP. His successful track record of building and leading companies led to the sales of Saxe Marketing (marketing analytics), Customer Insight (customer relationship management), TIAN Software (business activity monitoring) and OutlookSoft (corporate performance management).

As CEO and Co-Founder of Resonance Technologies, Christian joined Resonance co-Founders Lawrence D. Lenihan Jr and Joseph Ferrara in early 2016 to drive the technology vision and strategy so that talented fashion designers are empowered to build businesses that are as beautiful as their creative visions. In late 2018 Christian was named CEO and Co-Founder of Resonance Companies.

Launched in July 2015 with the purpose of transforming the Fashion industry, Resonance uniquely combines capital and company-building experience with fashion industry insight and experience into an unique venture capital model powered by a proprietary, technology-based fashion business architecture and advanced manufacturing capability.

Prior to Resonance, Christian founded Tidemark in San Francisco in 2010, the cloud-based applications platform for financial planning and analytics. As founder and CEO from 2010 to 2016 and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock and Redpoint, Christian led Tidemark to one of the most innovative enterprise companies powering CFOs and her teams for some of the largest and most successful companies in the world, including WeWork, Whole Foods Market, Engie, Veolia, and Intuit. Prior to Tidemark, Christian founded several companies including Saxe Marketing (acquired by Experian) and TIAN/OutlookSoft (acquired by SAP). He also served as the CTO and SVP of SAP ’s applications business from 2007 to 2009. Originally from Bucharest, Romania, Christian escaped communism and arrived in NYC in 1990 starting anew but free by driving a limo on the streets of Manhattan.

Christian has written and been interviewed extensively on technology and entrepreneurship appearing in part in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, CNET and CNBC.
