Christy Bozic Named Director of Duke’s Institute for Enterprise Engineering
Dr. Bozic joined Duke in August 2024 as executive director of the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program. She came to Duke from the University of Colorado, where she served as the Lockheed Martin Professor of Engineering Management and Faculty Director of the Engineering Management program. Her academic credentials include a PhD in Curriculum & Instruction from Purdue University, with research focused on innovative instructional strategies in engineering and technology education. She also holds an MBA from Butler University and a BS in Industrial Engineering Technology & Supply Chain Management from Purdue.
“I’m excited to collaborate with industry, government and corporate partners to create applied learning experiences that serve both our students and external stakeholders,” said Dr. Bozic. “By positioning IEnE as a bridge between Duke’s intellectual capital and real-world enterprise needs, we can generate meaningful insights and impact on both sides.”

She has held key global business development roles with companies such as Federal Mogul, Kimball Electronics Group, and TDK Corporation. Her work reflects a strong commitment to bridging academic programs with industry needs, and she holds professional certifications in Project Management (PMP) and Engineering Management (CPEM).

“Last summer, we set out to find a visionary leader to guide the Institute for Enterprise Engineering into Duke’s second century. We could not have found a more inspiring leader than Christy,” said Jerry Lynch, Vinik Dean of Engineering. “As an experienced academic leader, her record is a tour de force in program innovation. We cannot wait to see her vision for the Institute come to life.”
Since joining Duke Engineering, Dr. Bozic has brought deep expertise in engineering education, workforce development and industry engagement. In her new role, she will provide leadership across the Institute’s portfolio, including enterprise analytics, systems engineering and professional graduate education.
