Payne, Hoffman Named Bass Fellows
Recognizing excellence in research and undergraduate teaching
Christine Payne, associate professor of mechanical engineering and materials science, and Brenton Hoffman, associate professor of biomedical engineering, are among Duke’s recently announced Bass Fellows. These chairs are reserved for Duke professors with demonstrated excellence in research and undergraduate instruction. Candidates are nominated by faculty and evaluated by a faculty committee for having achieved “true excellence in both research and teaching” and being good university citizens.
