Merry Making!

Season's Greetings from the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University

December 2015

Students from the DukeMakers club created this custom snowflake design ready for 3-D printing at The Foundry — Duke’s new, 7,600-square-foot “makerspace” where student teams, faculty, and staff focused on engineering, energy, entrepreneurship, and sustainability can build ideas from the ground up.

Make Your Flake

As our gift to you, we are releasing the 3-D printable .stl file for personal use. Use your own 3-D printer or upload the file to an online vendor such as Shapeways or Sculpteo. (In the Duke area, check the Innovation Co-Lab or the Durham County Public Library.) The size should be set to approximately 4" in diameter, and we recommend printing with a strong plastic material (in Duke blue, of course!). Be sure to take a photo and share your creation with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the tags #merrymaking @DukeEngineering!
