WIN Empowerment Fund

Unlocking Opportunities

Even the best laid plans run into roadblocks. As engineers, we identify obstacles and help remove them. Through the generosity of the Pratt School of Engineering group within the Duke Women’s Impact Network (WIN), this fund ensures that no talented student misses a career opportunity because of an unexpected expense not covered by financial aid.

Covering Expenses

When the cost of an airplane ticket stands between a promising student and a chance to tout their research at a conference, the WIN fund can help pay the fare. The same goes for exams fees that mean acceptance into graduate school. And for professional attire for that job interview. Students with the highest financial need, as determined by Duke’s Karsh Office of Undergraduate Financial Support, receive priority.

What the Funds Covers

We provide support for needs remaining after discounts and waivers. Career maximum of $1,000 per student.

Grad School Prep

We support the purchase of exam preparation materials and fees charged to apply to graduate, professional or medical school.

Being there makes a difference. We can cover travel expenses that facilitate attendance at interviews, research conferences and qualified professional society meetings.

Appearance is important. Look the part through funding for suits and similar business dress.

Apply for a Grant

Support is available for Duke juniors or seniors who study engineering and receive financial aid.
