Pratt’s Professional Master’s Program Office, in conjunction with Duke’s Career Center, offers a range of training, guidance and support to engineering students enrolled in the Master of Engineering Management program and the Master of Engineering programs. Some programs are also open to engineering students from Pratt’s Master of Science programs.

Resources for Doctoral and MS Students

Throughout the academic year, Duke’s Career Center runs programs specifically designed for doctoral and master of science students. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these opportunities early and often:

  • Academic job search strategies (for both research/professorial positions and university administration opportunities)
  • Career Prep Series (CV and Resume and converting, cover letter, internships, interview skills)
  • Non-academic job search strategies for industry and governmental positions
  • Transferrable skills training (to coach students in identifying their full set of marketable skills)
  • Resume review and critiques
  • Networking skill development and utilizing tools such as LinkedIn and other social media
  • MS and PhD Student Career Fair
  • Professional etiquette dinner
  • Interviews skills training for international students
