Duke Electrical and Computer Engineering’s Kenneth Brown presents a quantum overview, sponsored by Duke Science & Society
Duke Science and Society recently sponsored a lunchtime dialogue on quantum computing’s projected impacts and implications. Duke Electrical and Computer Engineering’s Kenneth Brown, who leads the Software-Tailored Architecture for Quantum (STAQ) co-design project, an effort that seeks to demonstrate a quantum advantage over traditional computers using ion trap technology, gave a presentation titled “Quantum Computation.” For those with little knowledge of quantum computing, Brown’s presentation is an excellent overview. The dialogue was hosted by Charlie Giattino, a PhD candidate in Neuroscience and a Graduate Fellow for the Duke Center on Law & Technology; also presenting was Kevin Lee, Associate Professor of Law at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.
