Jillian Hurst, PhD, has expertise in conducting community-based clinical research studies in infants, children, and adolescents. She is currently a lead investigator on two such studies: Project HOPE 1000, an observational cohort study of mother-infant dyads, and Duke BRAVE Kids, an observational cohort study of children with exposure to or infection with COVID-19. During this presentation, you will: 1. Be able to identify and define a community-based patient population. 2. Gain familiarity in the special considerations needed for recruitment and engagement of community-based study participants. 3.
