Degrees Offered at Pratt

Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering offers Bachelor of Science degrees in four major engineering disciplines. While each engineering major offers options for specialized study, the basic engineering degree requirements are the same for all majors.

In addition, more than 27% of Duke engineering students study abroad. We feel such experiences help prepare our students to assume leadership roles in an increasingly global, technology focused society. We have structured a study abroad course plan for each of our B.S. degree programs.

Stay Another Year for a Master of Science Degree

Students interested in obtaining a Master of Science degree may want to pursue our 5-year BSE/MS programs. Students can begin earning graduate credit during the spring semester of their senior year.

Double Majors and Minors

At Duke, engineering students can combine engineering and non-engineering disciplines to double major. All course requirements for both majors must be satisfied. Among the most common non-engineering second majors are public policy studies, economics, mathematics, physics, history and religion.

Most of the departments in Trinity College of Arts and Sciences have established minors and engineering students are eligible to enroll in them. The courses required for minors are specified by the department/academic program. A minimum of five courses is required, including at least three above the introductory level.

Certificates

Pratt and Duke offer several undergraduate certificate programs that enable students to pursue more depth in a particular area of interest.
