Dr. Richard Fragaszy

Dr. Richard Fragaszy, Ph.D., P.E., is a Program Director at the National Science Foundation for the ENG/CMMI directorates. He will be giving a seminar entitled "ENG Research Funding at NSF with Emphasis on the CMMI Division" on Monday, March 30 from 4:00-5:00pm in Schiciano Side A located in the FCIEMAS Building on Duke University's West Campus. Abstract: Dr. Fragaszy will provide a brief, general introduction to NSF, followed by a description of the Engineering (ENG) Directorate's organization, Divisions and Programs. A more detailed description of CMMI's Programs and priorities will be presented, including statistics on success rate and award budgets. Current ENG research priorities will be discussed, including cross-Directorate Programs and Solicitations. The talk will end with a discussion of the review process and various funding mechanisms, including Solicitations, unsolicited research proposals, workshop proposals, EAGER and RAPID, and common supplements including REU, RET and ROA.
