5th Annual Abhijit Mahato "Envisioning the Invisible" Image and Photo Contest
Wednesday, November 19, 2014
4:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Fitzpatrick Center Schiciano Auditorium
The Mahato Memorial event honors Abhijit Mahato, a former engineering graduate student who was tragically murdered on Friday, January 18, 2008. He valued activities that bridged the gaps between the science/engineering and social sciences/humanities disciplines, including sports, chess and photography. As a memorial to Abhijit's passion for both science and photography, an imaging contest is held annually to display our extraordinary and diverse talents. The submitted images are judged based on the following criteria: 1. Making the ordinary extraordinary: Presenting everyday objects in a unique perspective 2. Sharing the science and knowledge of objects through vision and imaging: Using an image to teach or show something about our world that we may not yet know or have imagined.
